Biography

Abbey was born and raised in St. Louis, MO, but is proud to now call Colorado her home. Before becoming a certified nurse midwife, Abbey was a labor and delivery nurse for over 5 years, with experience in both in-hospital, and out of hospital births. During that time, she became passionate about supporting and educating women during some of the most challenging yet incredibly beautiful times in their lives.

What makes Colorado home to you?

When I first moved here, I fell in love with the sheer beauty of my everyday surroundings. I feel at home any time I’m able to get outside and explore- whether it’s hiking, biking, or white-water rafting. Those peaceful moments of quiet while being surrounded by nature is what makes Colorado feel the most like home to me.

What are your passions outside of work?

I love my family and friends more than anything. In my free time I love hiking, traveling, cooking, reading, and just spending time with the people I love.

Why did you become a Midwife?

I became a midwife because I truly love the midwifery model of care. I love that our care focuses on seeing a woman holistically, and that pregnancy and birth are a normal part of someone’s life. Women are so incredibly strong, and it is such a privilege to be able to partner with women during every stage of their reproductive journeys.

What in your career are you most proud?

I am most proud of my ability to meet clients where they are by being very open, kind, and gentle with everyone I meet. I’m grateful of any opportunity to be able to partner with women during their birth experiences.

What is the most important part of your job?

YOU! My goal is to make you feel seen and heard. I want to help you make the best decisions for you and your family. I strive to be open and honest in my communication in a way that can help build warm, trusting relationships so that you feel comfortable and informed about your own healthcare.
