Meet Valorie
Biography
I believe that every person has the right to give birth in a safe and comfortable environment surrounded by love and support. This is why I became a midwife.
I am blessed to have 7 children that call me Mom. I have a daughter and twin boys and 4 bonus daughters from my husband. We have called Colorado home for the past 5 years. I worked at the Pueblo Community Health Center before joining the birth team at Seasons Midwifery & Birth Center. I earned my BSN at Methodist Nursing School in Omaha, NE, and worked in Labor and Delivery for 6 years before earning by MSN at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland Ohio.
What makes Colorado home to you?
I’ve lived in six different states and love Colorado the most!
What are your passions outside of work?
I love nature and exploring the amazing outdoor opportunities Colorado has to offer, especially if there are waterfalls involved. Traveling and experiencing other cultures is something I always look forward to and plan as often as I can. Dance fitness and yoga help me stay healthy and I love teaching prenatal classes.
Why did you become a Midwife?
My passion for midwifery started when I was doing mission work in Haiti and realized that these strong people were capable of giving birth to healthy babies in a very basic setting without interventions and with limited resources.
What in your career are you most proud?
Getting offered my dream job as a midwife at Seasons Midwifery and Birth Center and making the transition from hospital to community birth.
What is the most important part of your job?
My role as a midwife is to be your partner in healthcare whether it be family planning, pregnancy, and birth or wellness visits. I will guide you through the decision-making process and make sure you have the knowledge you need to make an informed decision, doing my best to facilitate the birth experience YOU want.
