I labored 11 hours at the birth center and hadn’t progressed. I was amazed at all the different interventions in their arsenal they used to try to help me. Luckily, we had the expert care of the midwives and my doula’s support when we had to transfer from the birth center. If it wasn’t for the patience and tender care of the midwives even in the hospital, I would have for sure had to have had a cesarean section. I felt empowered as a laboring woman, and my wishes were honored even with this change in care and my plans. Seasons respects the labor process and the sanctity of birth.
