Michael Gottlieb, M.D.

Biography

After growing up in Colorado and graduating from CU Boulder undergrad, Dr. Michael Murphy “Murph” Gottlieb took his family to Norfolk, Virginia for medical school. He went on to do his residency training at Einstein Medical center in Philadelphia in 2014. He came home to Colorado after several years of practice in Rhode Island where he was also a clinical instructor at Brown University. Dr. Gottlieb believes in care that is a conversation and collaboration between patient and provider. His philosophy is to treat everyone with the same warmth and kindness he would want from someone caring for his mother, wife, or sister. In his free time, he enjoys hiking, camping, traveling, and astronomy.

What makes Colorado home to you?

The people here are the best in the world.

What are your passions outside of work?

My wife and children. They keep me young and honest and bring me more joy than anything else.

Why did you become an OB/GYN?

To be part of something amazing. I’ve delivered thousands of babies and it still amazes me every single time.

What in your career are you most proud?

How far I’ve come and how much I have learned along the way. When I think of how much time and dedication it took to get here, I am amazed. It is an awesome responsibility to care for patients and I have treated it as such from my first day at medical school.

What is the most important part of your job?

Being at my absolute best when patient’s place their trust in me during their most vulnerable and special moments.
