Midwifery For All; A Statement of Intent

The team here at Seasons Midwifery & Birth Center is proud to offer our care and services to all the members of our community. We feel strongly that to this end, A Midwife for Every Body is a necessary goal to strive for. As midwives, we have a strong belief that midwifery care needs to be accessible to all. Midwifery has a long history of helping to serve the underserved and marginalized members of society and we will pledge to continue with this legacy. Here are some of our beliefs in regards to these issues;

  • We believe that race, class, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, gender expression, language or any other variable should not limit any individuals access to midwifery care.
  • We believe that the difference between Equity and Equality is crucial to understand and that we must all strive for Equity. You can read about this concept here https://www.icafoodshelf.org/blog/2017/11/15/equity-vs-equality-vs-justice-how-are-they-different
  • We believe that not all people who are born in a genetically female body feel connected to the gender expression of female and that the same applies to genetically male persons as well.  All of these people deserve care that is compassionate, respectful and of high quality. These are hallmarks of midwifery care and therefor midwifery care is an essential option for these folks.
  • We believe that opening the midwifery umbrella of inclusivity does not diminish or marginalize those already covered under the umbrella, it simply makes more room for everyone to be welcome.

We are Midwives and will work to incorporate all of these concepts into our care. We are Midwives and will work to make midwifery care available and accessible to all people. We are Midwives and will work diligently to affect change and support others on their paths to wellness and wholeness, in whatever shape that means for each individual. We are honored that you have taken the time to visit our website and learn more about us. Please consider following us on social media and coming to our tour our center when we open.

Updated Clinic Visitor Policy

Due to the rise in COVID-19 cases in Colorado, we are no longer allowing visitors of any age for clinic appointments. We understand that this is an inconvenience and potential child care cost for our clients but the safety of our pregnant clients, newborns and health care providers is our top priority. Birth Center family/support is still allowed for those in labor. Please call for more information.
