Stephen M. Volin, M.D.

Biography

As the founding partner of The Women’s Health Group, Dr. Volin is the caring, knowledgeable, and expert physician that many women in the North Metro Denver area turn to. His warm bedside manner, skill with diagnosing problems properly, and attention to each patient, is reassuring to women who trust his expertise. His patients have had so many positive experiences that they tell their friends, family, and colleagues about him. As a result, he has delivered over 7,000 babies, performed thousands of surgeries, and expanded the practice to 32 providers and 8 locations!

What makes Colorado home to you?

I like the weather and the proximity to the mountains. My wife and I believe Denver has an excellent live music and food scene!

What are your passions outside of work?

I love to ski and hike. I don’t like to go to the gym but make an effort to go about 4 times a week. I am addicted to the New York Times and read it daily. We have four kids and they require a lot of work, and in return we have a lot of laughter and good times in our house. I am also lucky to be married to a great lady, Amy, since 1992. We have lived in the same house ever since we moved to Denver.

Why did you become an OB/GYN?

I love being an OB/GYN because I get to help women as they do all the hard work in being pregnant and having a baby. Being able to help is a special privilege that most people never get. In addition, I am blessed to have longer term relationships with my patients since I see so many people year after year through different stages of their lives.

What in your career are you most proud?

I have been honored to have helped deliver over 7,000 babies in my career. I have worked hard to become a good surgeon with expertise in pelvic support and incontinence minimally invasive procedures. I am also proud that my first employee from 1992 still works with me, Audrey Fernandez. Thank you Audrey!

What is the most important part of your job?

Right now, my most important job is to be in the moment with each patient I encounter as best I can. I use a scribe so I can concentrate on my patient. There are a lot of challenges in the medical field and the most important thing is to listen to patients.

Are you accepting new patients?

Yes
